NEW NFX SERIES ANALOGUE DETECTORS
The new NFX Series is the latest generation of fire detectors. Building on the experience gained over several decades from an installed base of tens of millions of devices, NFX Series offers substantial cost savings for installers, enhanced configurability, management and control for fire systems for integrators and outstanding detection performance and false alarm immunity for end users. All of the new benefits are delivered while maintaining full electrical and mechanical backwards compatibility with previous versions to support existing systems.
The detector family consists of six new detection devices: three heat detectors, 58° and 78° fixed temperature and rate of rise; optical smoke; photo-thermal multi-sensor and the unique PTIR detector, which provides the performance of ionisation technology in detecting a fast flaming fire without the environmental drawbacks. All models operate under the new digital Advanced Protocol and are available with or without embedded and panel controllable electrical isolation. Additionally there is a new single base to compliment the new family of detectors. Suitable for both surface and flush mounting, the B501AP replaces the multiple previous versions and makes installation a far quicker process.
NFX Series advanced detectors feature a completely new mechanical housing, which offers more efficient smoke entry into the chamber and provides comprehensive local status indication to assist with installation, commissioning and troubleshooting. The core optical detector has a completely new optical chamber design as result of many years researches and delivers a significant reduction in the impact of settled dust on the sensitivity over time, and reduces false alarms resulting from insect ingress. The new chamber design has been proven in extensive testing to be more efficient, dust and insect resistant and less susceptible to fault in high air velocities or back pressure. The new digital protocol provides reduced power consumption across the loop and enables up to 159 devices and modules per loop, to provide greater management and control at the system, loop and device levels (the previous protocol allowed up to 99 detectors and modules per loop). The increased flexibility enables the overall system to be optimised to the location and use of the building. The powerful combination of hardware and software move fire detector performance to a new level, offering improved life safety through faster and more effective detection while simultaneously reducing the disruption caused by false and nuisance alarms.
